Limousin Genetics Australia was formed in 2023 coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Limousin cattle in Australia. Founded by like-minded and well-established Limousin breeders and enthusiasts BJF, The Downfall and Storm King Limousin. The Limousin Genetics Australia founders felt it was time to recognise the quality and value of Limousin genetics available in Australia. Our focus is all about Breeding Better Beef with particular emphasis on carcase quality and yield.

Our Aim

Limousin Genetics Australia aims to source, breed and provide access to genetics that produce progeny who can thrive and perform in Australian conditions. Breeding Better Beef that aligns with market specifications and provides a quality eating experience for consumers each and every day.

Our Belief

Limousin Genetics Australia believes there is an increasing opportunity to source, breed and provide access to Australian Limousin genetics for both seedstock and commercial producers. Over the 50 years that Limousin cattle have been in Australia, they have advanced significantly. The use of selectively imported genetics has assisted in developing the Australian Limousin herd to where it is today. Now it is time to develop confidence in and promote the genetics available within the Australian herd. Continuing to carefully source and integrate imported genetics into breeding programs is important. But, it is equally important to be aware of the quality of Australian genetics available. Limousin Genetics Australia is dedicated to Breeding Better Beef with a particular focus on carcase yield and quality. In order to do so the genetics we promote need to be suited to Australian conditions and markets. Hence why we are focused on sourcing, breeding and providing access to Australian Limousin genetics we believe can deliver our goal of Breeding Better Beef for the consumer.
